Another low level walk with beautiful scenery is the 'Coffin Route' which takes you round both Grasmere and Rydal Water. You can start the walk from various points and there would be opportunity for refreshments part the way round. This would take a good 3 hours. If you do this walk I would recommend visiting the free gardens at Rydal Hall which is on the route. This is a recently restored garden originally designed by Thomas Mawson.

Just got back from a walk round and up Binsey ( behind Skiddaw) from Overwater ; roads all clear and negligible snow on the paths.

Fantastic views of Skiddaw etc and into Scotland.

With a bit of thought can be anything between a quick 1 hour soft walk and a 4 hour long circular one.

Terrain isnt typical Lakes more like N.Yorkshire.

Good tearoom - Maes - in Uldale for afters.
