Hi

Keswick, Hawkshead, Coniston (a bit quieter these last 2) are all good campsites. Keswick-plenty to do come rain/shine-just down the A66 there's Rheged http://www.rheged.com/ loads of walking wherever you stay.Loads of shops-outdoorsy ones in Keswick. Mtn bike hire. What are you into?

Depends where you want to be

Hawkshead has a campsite right in viallge and is a goodplace to reach Windermere and Coniston from.

Another i would reccomend is at Pooley Bridge http://www.hillcroftpark.co.uk/index.php

A short stroll to village where you have a couple of nice pubs and the basics you need

The national trust has a few sites but this tend to be big and quite busy i prefere somthing a little smaller
