Im staying in portsmouth next month to go to a concert at the guildhall and was thinking of staying at the express holiday inn as It looks the closest. Does anyone know if it is close enough to the guildhall to walk to?

There is an IBIS hotel which is a lot closer than the Holiday Inn. Don't know what the hotel is like but all of these chain hotels tend to be pretty much the same.

The IBIS is on a busy(ish) road and therefore may get some road noise, but saying that the Holiday Inn is at Gunwharf where you are likely to get a lot of noise from people leaving all of the bars/clubs.

Hope this helps.

The IBIS would definitely be closer than gunwharf. Stayed at the IBIS a couple of years ago and the rooms were small but clean and more than adequate for somewhere to sleep after a night out!

Dont remember there being much noise from the road there either.

Yes the Ibis is about 2 mins walk from the guildhall

and would cost a lot less than the express holiday inn.

Also the Ibis has just had a face lift that finished this year...

Top Tip....PreBook the hotel...as aways very busy

Have fun
