In June 2009 at least the Kings' Arms had real food in decent portions. (I'm a hearty eater.) I think I had a goat cheese salad and some kind of pasta--NOT microwave lasagna!

We loved the Kings Arms(order the steak and ale pie), and the Queens Head. The Indian restaurant called the Taste of India was excellent. We went there twice we liked it so much,

Queen's Head was very good in October 2009 also but crowded, we had to go early and one evening couldn't get seated.

Up the street a ways was a new Italian restaurant, it was very good as well.

Can you walk to the Tesco (or it is a Sainsbury's) that is outside town? Not too far, I don't think.
