If you are hiring from Enterprise, who have a depot in Swindon Road, in my experience (at another branch) they will take you to the station, which is the other side of town. Otherwise as LCFC says you will need a taxi, unless you are willing to negotiate the town centre to get to bus stops. So check with Enterprise first. Bus fares for more than 2 people will probably equal taxi fare.
A regular contributor to the forum often suggests Chippenham as Enterprise office is at station (But please check).
If this is soon, be aware that Cheltenham races will be 14th-17th (Friday) March which will disrupt local travel.
Thank you. Our trip is in september
If you know your schedule start checking train fares about 12 weeks before the day, as there are substantial savings if you can commit to a particular timed train, Currently £16.50 per adult in advance rather than anything up to £102 for tomorrrow.
Thank you. We will be able to buy in advance one fall schedules are published
Be aware that peak time trains to Paddington can be very expensive. There are also good coach (bus) services to the centre of London.
