best activities for kids in Cotwolds - staying in Broadway

Hello. We are coming to Broadway on March 26th from Leeds and we're planning to leave on March 28th. The kids will be 7 and 9 A few questions:

1. Anything we should stop to see on the way down from Leeds, where our friends are?

2. I'm planning a full day in Stratford. Is this more than I need? Any ideas besides the usual Shakespeare-related stuff? Has anyone been to the witch/wizard museum there?

3. Other places to tour/visit while we're there?

4. Our reservation in London begins the 29th. I thought we might leave Broadway on the 28th and head east to spend the night somewhere else. I have done Oxford and Bath as much as I care to, but I haven't gone east except to London. Any ideas for an interesting place to spend an overnight before heading south to London? Remember - 2 kids.

Thank you. I eagerly await your ideas!

Warwick castle is often recommended for kids and its close to Stratford.

Cotswold wildlife park http://www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk/

Cotswold Farm Park http://www.cotswoldfarmpark.co.uk/ you could do from Broadway.

Also from Broadway, you can hike up to the Tower and back. http://www.broadwaytower.co.uk/ It wont be open but you can still walk around it, some great views!

If you go further south and then due east you could do Wookey Hole caves http://www.wookey.co.uk/caves.htm (its just outside Bath), then drive past the White horseon the hillside and then maybe Stone Henge. I've done that in a day before going in to London.

Otherwise you could go from Broadway to Cambridge then London.

Here are some things my kids (5 and 8 at the time) liked.

Falconry center outside of Mourton on the Marsh

Warwick Castle

All the Shakespeare sites in Stratford. I don't think we did the witch museum, and if we did, I don't remember it!!

Hi there.

Cannot answer No 1, sorry - we've been to the Cotswolds in March for the past 4 years but always travelled from Heathrow.

2. Stratford - We've been twice for a day and I wopuld say that a day is enough for the Sahekespeare stuff. Have not been so witch/wizard museum though.

3. Stow on the Wold is a very pretty town to visit and so is Bourton on the Water - Bourton has a maze which would be really fun for the children and also a Bird park - check out this link completely-cotswold.com/bourton/…dragon.htm

The Cotswold Farm Park is also fun if your children like farm animals - they had some lovely animals when we had gone and our daughter had bottle fed lambs.

4. Don't know what your budget for the one night is but on one accasion we had spent our one night on way to London in Bourton - quite a few eating places without having to drive around.

Enjoy!
