Anyone know of a beach wedding reception with service taking place there also?

I wouldn't have thought that was possible, weddings in England have to be indoors, some places push the limits with semi-permanent teepes and the like, but I dont see how you can have a structure on a beach that would count as indoors.

If you really want the service outdoors, the way to do it is a register office wedding before or after (which can be as minimal as you want) and a ceremony on the beach that looks like a wedding ceremony but actually isn't.

That does give you a lot more scope then for what you can do, you have 100% freedom over what is said, where it is, even what the music is, all of which are restricted in some way, at an official civil (as opposed to church) wedding.

Actually, you can get married on the seafront in the Brighton Bandstand. However, it's only available to hire on certain days and months of the year, and has limited capacity. Check the Council's website for more info:

If you really want to be quirky and casual, the Yellowave Beach Sports Venue is licensed for weddings:

As is the Brighton Pier:

Good suggestion from Joe. Separate out the legal bits ("anyone know of any lawful impediment, blah blah" - they take ten minutes at a Registry Office and all you need are two witnesses and the money to pay the fee), and you can have your ceremony however you want it.

Many people who do this count their anniversaries from the ceremonial date.

Al Fresco do wedding packages. Whilst not totally outside, they're right on the seafront with panoramic views and outdoor space.

I cannot vouch personally for the venue, but they seem to have some very good reviews for wedding ceremonies etc.

A bit further along the coast, this place is well-regarded locally and outside ceremeonies are very near to, if not actually on, the beach : www.thecoodenbeachhotel.co.uk/weddings/

Let us know how it goes. Good luck.
