Kings cross to brighton

Hi there

We are getting the train from Scotland to Kings Cross then plan to go to Brighton. Which is the best way from Kings cross? Do we get the tube to Victoria then a train from there or get the direct train?

thanks

Kath

Walk across the road from Kings Cross to St Pancras and get a direct train to Brighton (FCC) from there.

You should be able to book a ticket for the whole journey from Arbroath - but it would make for a VERY long day, so why not consider taking the Sleeper to London or flying to Gatwick from Aberdeen or Edinburgh

If you would be interested you can you also travel by coach. Of course it is a long journey it will take about 12 hours. There is no direct service, you will have to change at London Victoria Coach Station.

You can travel from Dundee to Brighton with National Express. For this connection you can buy one ticket. However, for such a long route I recommend a new service from Megabus from Dundee - Megabus sleeper coach. Tickets are from 15 GBP one-way. It is an overnight service: You got an ad here: http://vimeo.com/69555337

More info about this service can be find at:

europebus.co.uk/london-to-dundee-with-nation…

or megabusgold.com

Then you have to change to National Express coach to Brighton. Tickets are from 5 GBP one-way.

I would prefer 2 trains as mentioned above.

I would definately go for the FCC service from St Pancras to Brighton

However, there is a lot of weekend engineering on this route (see link below)

If there is engineering and it's saying that there is a rail replacement bus service, you're best off getting the Victoria line to Victoria and then the Southern service to Brighton. These tend to head off from the higher numbered platforms 14-18, to the right of the station as you come out of the tube.

Hi, I'm looking to do the same journey in October. Can you tell me how long it would take to walk from Kings Cross to St Pancras? Thanks.

Under 15 minutes - less if you know precisely where you are going

About as long as it would take to cross a road in Aberdeen
