Cream tea in Torquay

Hi everyone,

I'll be in Torquay for a weekend next month, and I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good place to have cream tea, please.

Thanks in advance :-)

Funnily enough I have asked a similar question about cream teas in Exeter!

Anyway, I haven't tried it for a cream tea, but the Cockington Court Cafe is in a very pleasant location where there is plenty to see and do - http://www.cockingtoncourt.org/ - and if you are lucky enough to get a warm day, sitting outside is very enjoyable, especially if there is a cricket match on.

Otherwise, Angels Restaurant on Babbacombe Downs has got a very good reputation generally and for cream teas (although it has just had one bad review on here, so take from that what you will!). Again, I haven't been there myself.

I'm getting hungry thinking of all these cream teas. I was disappointed last time I went to cockington manor for a cream tea.

Personally I feel you have to go out of Torbay for an awesome cream tea. Could recommend a place in totnes, Dartmouth or on dartmoor but guess you don't want to go out and about.

Hi, thanks for your suggestions! No, sadly I will be there for two days only, with no car. And on the Saturday I'll be at a wedding all day... So just a few hours on the Sunday to have a cream tea and then catch the train back home.

I did see some reviews about Angel restaurant. I may try that one if nothing else comes up! :)

Thanks guys.

I would 2nd Angel Tea Rooms on Babbacombe Downs, Torquay, it has a fantastic reputation locally. It gets very busy so I would advise you to book.
