Christmas Break

I am trying to decide on a hotel to treat my parents for the Christmas Week.

Hotel Balmoral is top of the list at the moment but I am a little confused by the 2* rating. Can anyone confirm that this is at least to a 4* standard and the sort of establishment you would send teenage pensioners to!!

Hotel Balmoral is quite nice, it should be fine

What do you look for in a hotel, stars rating is based on facilities etc as well as cleanliness. They wont have 24 hour reception, swimming pools, room service etc. But they will be friendly, clean comfortable etc., which is more important to you??

Importance is clean, friendly and relaxing. My parents need a chill out period from a rotten year so some sea air, good food and warm beds and happy faces are what's needed.

If it meets all these then I will go ahead a book as I dont want to leave it much longer, people will start thinking of christmas soon, especially with the non summer we are having.
