Sunday lunch before ferry crossing

Please can anyone recommend a place either close to the Brittany Ferry Port, or just off the route into Plymouth (A38) where we can stop and get a decent sunday lunch before we sail this weekend.

Thanks in anticipation

If the weather looks good I'd pack a picnic and have it on the greensward at Plymouth Hoe overlooking Plymouth Sound. I'd save space for a substantial meal on board because Brittany Ferries food is so good

There are a couple of places in the Royal William Yard, the River Cottage Canteen and the Bistrot Pierre, both of which are first rate. The RWY is less than half a mile from the Ferryport. Plenty of character to the settings.

Thank you all for your knowledge (and advice).

We actually stopped off just on the A38 at a place called Buckfastleigh. We had a very nice sunday lunch at The Abbey Inn - sitting outside enjoying a sunny afternoon by the river.
