We are travelling to guernsey on an msc cruise and want to spent a day on the beach! Which is the closest holidaymakers beach from the cruise port and which is the easiest way 2 get there? We are travelling in August

I would let the weather make your decision ...

by far the most conventional beach would be Pembroke Bay in the north

You could take either a taxi or bus 92 and 12 (or 11 and a short walk at the end)

if there's a lot of wind, maybe either Fermain Bay (bus 11, 93, 91) at the east coast (good restaurant as well!)

or Petit Bot Bay on the south coast would be a great alternative (bus 11, 93, 91)

Both bays will require a bit of walking down (and back up) the cliffs, but that might be an interesting experience. They will give good shelter for respectively western and northern winds

The closest beach from the port will be Havelet Bay which is a short stroll through town. Whilst it is broad and sandy it is not the nicest beach by far. A short bus trip will take you to the west coast to Cobo and Grandes Rocques, 2 lovely beaches adjacent to each other and as Meyem suggests a slightly longer bus journey to Pembroke or Chouet.
