Lodging on a budget

We plan to spend few day in Cape Cod at the end of August. Where should we look for lodging if we are under $200 per night budget?

Cape view on rte 6 in Truro. High on a hill, good views. I am seeing rates under $120 for some late August dates.

It was renovated before opening for this season

There were a few folks looking for budget accommodations who stayed at the Hyannis Travel Inn last summer and provided good reviews. If you want to locate mid-Cape in Hyannis then you will have access to the ferries to the islands as well as Hyannis harbor cruises, you'll be well located to explore other towns during the daytime and then have a wealth of Main St. and harbor restaurants and activities each evening.

There are many pleasant accommodations across the Cape. Good luck with your planning.

Again, second hand input from another poster but in the budget category on lovely Old Kings Highway in Dennis and near the wonderful Bay beaches. Worth a look. Location is more bucolic but the location is not all that far from Rt 6 again if you plan to make day trips from the mid-Cape in either direction.

The Chatham Motel in Chatham is great. Probably right around $200 per night for basic rooms in Aug. They might have a 2-3 night min stay during peak season.

What type of lodging are you looking for: motel, B&B, etc. For up to $200.00 you can find quite a bit. Also where do you want to be? Hard to recommend a place when you are talking about 15 towns. Do you want something on the Outer Cape, south shore, Upper Cape? More information is needed.

I agree with Howland on all counts. The later in August that you can arrive, the lower your accommodation rate.
