Weather not looking so great next week

Weather Channel is showing low 70's next week with a few days of rain. Any good ideas for things to do on days like this?

Hoping the weather will warm up a bit....

Alanm makes a good point. Other than sunning you can enjoy yourself outside if it's not monsooning. If it's pouring do what you do at home: shopping, lunch, drinking, movies.

70's sounds heavenly to me..but don't necessarily believe it. It was supposed to be 74 today and our thermometer reads 85. And if it's raining in Dennis it may not be raining in Eastham so it just depends on the type of rain. Thunderstorm? Quite often P-town and upper/mid-cape will get hit and Eastham misses it all together. Take a look at the radar rain loop for the area once you are here. You may still be able to find a beach with sun! forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php…

On Sunday about 5000 riders will be coming up the cape to Provincetown. If you have ever had a family member or friend suffer from cancer, then come out and cheer us on as we raise $40 Million this weekend. If you come over to 6A, you will see folks setting up chairs along the road and at every intersection with signs and bells. May be the best thing you do all week!!! We will be passing through Dennis from 9-12.

A couple of suggestions, read the Top Questions on the right side of the forum for the Rainy Day ideas. Buy a wind break at Pizazz in Dennis Port if you are going to a windy beach. Just denying the wind will make for a great beach day even at lower temps if the sun is out. (about $40). We sat under a cloud in Dennis Port one time for days so decided to go sightseeing in Falmouth. Wow, it was sunny and bright in Falmouth. Similarly, sometimes you simply need to go to the beach on the Bay side of Dennis.

And there are golf courses all over the Cape, though you do have two nice ones in Dennis.

I always think of downtown Chatham as a good place to poke around on a rainy day. Be sure to drop into Yankee Ingenuity and some of the other unique stores. I'm going to try Blue Coral restaurant for something different behind the Mayflower shop this year.

Even if you wouldn't normally go to an art museum you may find a docent led tour through the CC Art museum to be very interesting. For the most part the artists are local and the docents seem to know a lot about them and their works.

Be sure to pick up Cape Week on Sat when you arrive in the box in front of the Visitor's Center behind Kreme n Kone or your realtor may have one too. You can look at this Cape Cod Times publication today online too if you have the time. And, to see what is available all over the Cape, pull over into the Cape Cod visitor's center on Rt 6 right after exit 6 and chat with those folks and pick up publications about the towns that interest you. Good luck. P.S. The library in Dennis Port has a big rack of paperbacks just inside the door on the right that you can borrow without having a library card....just in case.

It was a cloudy and sprinkling kind of day the day we went to Nauset Beach and we still had a blast! Bonus...less people and lots of parking! As long as it's not pouring you'll be fine!
