Must do/see in Cape Cod?

Will be in Cape Cod for the first time over Labor Day weekend and would love some recommendations of things to do, places to see, places to eat. We'll be staying in West Yarmouth, which looks like a good central location. We'll have a car, so can get to places easily. Would love to go to Martha's Vineyards for a day, but otherwise don't know what else to do. Please recommend nice places to explore as well as good places to eat (preferably no tourist traps). Thank you!

I have some suggestions but it depends on how long your weekend is going to be. A trip to the Vineyard will be a day, suggest taking Hy-Line ferry from Hyannis which is a short trip from West Yarmouth. Another day trip may be a drive to P-town. National Seashore beaches are great, both Coast Guard Beach and Nauset Light Beach. There are many different things to see and do, but it depends on how much time you have to do it all.

If you are only going to be on the Cape for the long weekend one day will be taken up by a trip to MV. What you do will depend on what you like to do. If you are into nature and the outdoors there are many nature walks and hikes. Plenty of shopping. Interesting towns with harbors to explore. Wellfleet is the quintessential old Cape Cod town with a walkable downtown with restaurants, shops, galleries and beach.

The views of the ocean from Marconi Station Area area should not be missed. You might want to climb the Pilgrim Monument and visit the Provincetown Museum or the Provincetown Art Association and Museum.

Also the National Seashore Visitor's Center in Eastham is worth a visit.

Thanks! We'll be there full day Saturday and Sunday and half day on Monday. We'll probably do a day at the Vineyard on Sunday, so leaving Saturday open for a few hours at the beach, some exploring and a nice dinner. Any good local seafood places you can recommend?

I just answered another post regarding seafood places, so I just copied and pasted. These are all on the harbor in Hyannis:

For Italian I like DiParma in W Yarmouth. Captain PArkers is good too, for pub style food. They always get voted best chowder on the cape. For breakfast The Keltic Kitchen is very good. All of these places are on Route 28. Recently I went to Bistrot de Soleil in Hyannis which was very good. They have a special promotion where you get 3 courses and a glass of wine for $20. http://www.bistrotdesoleil.com.

I would recommend taking a trip up to P-town while you're on cape as it's a very fun town. Just be prepared for a lot of traffic as labor day is the last big weekend on the cape.
