winter day trips

I would like to go to the Cape with a 46 year old, 11 year old and an 81 year old, any suggestions on where we should go on April 18th?

I think you should go where the 81 year old can sit and watch some activity while the rest of you can alternate between sitting with them and walking to other nearby sights.

There is a wonderfully long park that separates Ocean Street and the docks of Hyannis harbor. This park has picnic tables and park benches scattered throughout and they offer great views of the harbor boat activity as well as strollers in the park. The park has public rest rooms and very affordable metered parking. There are many nearby pubs and restaurants across the street.

Another similar place is MacMillan Wharf in Provincetown. You can park here all day for $10 and there are park benches at the end of the wharf facing Provincetown Harbor. The 11 year-old will enjoy the Whydah Pirate Museum right on the Wharf.

There are public restrooms at the other end of the lot leading into Provincetown and tons of shops and restaurants along Commercial Street. There are also park benches in front of Town Hall and public restrooms inside.

If it rains on your Holiday on the Cape just dive into a restaurant with big-screen TV and have some drinks and eats and watch the Boston Marathon/Red Sox game.
