Car rental near Waterton Park, Canada?

Hi,

I plan on returning a U.S. rental car in East Glacier, spend two days in East Glacier National Park and take a shuttle to Waterton Park on the Canadian side. I've been searching for a car rental location near the border so I can drive up to Calgary. Are there any car rental locations in Waterton Park and/or any other methods outside of the shuttle service (I have a family of 4).

Thanks,

Canada

Waterton is pretty rustic.

As far as I can tell your nearest car rental would be available in Lethbridge which is 150kms away. There also doesn't seem to be Greyhound bus service from Waterton - the closest depot would be in Pincher Creek which is 45kms away.

You might be able to get a taxi from Pincher Creek to pick you up in Waterton and then take the Greyhound, but with a family that becomes very unwieldy...

Could you ask the car rental company you are using in the US if they could organise a drop-off for you either in Pincher Creek or Waterton itself?

Sorry not to be of more help.

Thanks for your response.

I can drop the rental in Canada but the cost is anywhere from $600-$1,000 additional USD for the week.

Sorry - I didn't make myself clear...

Ask the company they are using to drop a second car off for you.

So you get rid of the American hire car at Glacier and the same company arranges one for you in Canada - and gets it to you somehow.

Its a long shot but maybe they need the business?
