Budget accommodation

Hiya,

I am planning a trip from Vancouver to Calgary and plan for overnight stops in Hope, Osoyoos, Kelowna, Revelstoke, Golden, Lake Louise and Banff.

Can anyone suggest ant cheap accomodation for any of these stopovers please ?

For Lake Louise and Banff, the youth hostels are probably the only "budget" options, especially for the summer.

In Hope, there's a great place off the main highway - http://www.holiday-motel.com

Rooms there are about $60 for high season. It's near some caves, has a great view and feel to the place, outdoor pool and barbeque area. It doubles up as an RV and tent site as well.

The Frontier Motel in Revelstoke has a western theme and rates include a discount for meals in the restaurant, although there is also a hostel closer to downtown.

In Golden there is the Kicking Horse hostel:

I'm not sure why you'd want to stop in Hope since it's only about 1 hr and 45 mins from Vancouver and it's kind of a dreary place.

It's about 4 1/2 hrs to Osoyoos from Vancouver so that is very do-able in a day unless you are planning a lot of stops on the way. And if that's the case, I'd suggest Manning Park and Hedley. Both have great places to eat but still you can make a whole day drive and stops out of it. www.hitchingpostrestaurant.ca
