A coworker is going to /Canada /Wide SCi Fair in may; any good buys or must have's? We always bring back things for one another. Any suggestions?

What about a tidal bore trinket. A picture or two of the tidal bore may be nice as well.

Obvious and probably ubiquitous but extremely delicious, Nova Scotia Maple Syrup.

I also like bedlace's proposal above.

Looking specificly for items with a Nova Scotia flavor I would make the following suggestions:

If you are flying, the airport offers live lobster for transport. You see many of these leaving with tourists.

Pewter items made by Seagull (Pugwash) or Ames Pewter (Mahone Bay) are Nova Scotian delights. Jewelry items like seagull, starfish, and the Bluenose II schooner are small but wonderful. The Bluenose II is built from the racing schooner's original blueprints.

Blueberry items also represent our blueberry industry which is quite prominent in NS.

Anything made out of Nova Scotia tarten is unique to NS. Place mats are always popular.

I would suggest checking to see if items were actually made in NS and not just items that look like they belong because some of the stuff comes in from Japan.

There is also a place in Halifax that is becomming well known for their Nova Scotia crystal.

Hope this helpos.

The crystal place is called NovaScotian Crystal and is on the harbourfront in Halifax. It's well worth stopping by to watch the glass blowers and cutters in operation and their products are beautiful.
