Things to do when there's no snow?

Hello!

My husband and I were looking at going to Collingwood for our 5th anniversary this September 8th weekend and I'm hesitant to go because I can't really think of what there is to do there.

Right now the only thing I've got in mind is spending some time at the Scandinave spa in Blue Mountain for the hot and cold soaks. Any other suggestions, restaurants, places to stay?

There's a deal on one of the daily deal sites right now for a stay in Walter's Falls, is that nearby?

Thanks in advance for any tips, help, suggestions!

Explore the shoreline of Georgian Bay. Short drives will take you to beautiful sandy beaches and beautiful limestone beaches. If the weather is warm, swim.

Head west and do some hiking on the Bruce Trail. Lots of great hiking around there.

I would suggest you take a wander down Hurontario St (the main street) in Collingwood and stop into Espresso Post http://espressopost.com/ for a great coffee and snack. it's a family owned and operated biz, offers patio seating to people watch too. Then I would head over to Kamikaze http://www.kamikazebikes.com/welcome/ and pick up a bike rental and head out on the Georgian Trail for an easy ride. I would make it a point to get to Thornbury and stop at The Orchid http://orchidrestaurant.ca/ for lunch. A short ride further to the Thornbury harbour (check out the Beaver river), or down the main street of Thornbury for a little more browsing. It's a gentle ride back to town, you have gotten a little exercise, taken some great pics, and maybe made some new friends along the way. Lots to do in the Georgian Triangle http://www.visitsouthgeorgianbay.ca/

Have a great time

Ridge Runner Slide Ride at Blue Mountain. It's a lot of fun. Check out the Youtube clip provided below. Fast forward to about 1 minute in.
