Your best bet is Greyhound, from Guelph (there are stops on the university campus) to Kitchener (Charles St W). From the Kitchener Transit Centre you can take local transit (iXpress) up to Laurier.

GO Transit has very limited service. There are two trains a day from downtown Guelph to downtown Kitchener (6:15 pm and 7:18 pm). The return trains are early morning (5:22 am! and 7:10 am). There's all-day bus service but it doesn't connect the two -- you'd have to go all the way to Bramalea and backtrack.
