What are the 'don't miss' restaurants in the Jackson area?

I am going to Jackson area in two weeks with the wife/young kids.

What are the 'don't miss' restaurants in the area?

Do we need reservations?

Thank you so much for your time and input,

You can wait to make reservations after you get here, but they're a good idea.

Jackson has a lot of good restaurants, but if you're looking for those that are unique to this area, I'd consider: Cowboy Steakhouse (steaks), Gun Barrel (steaks, set in a former western museum), Sweetwater (good variety, great ribs, set in an old cabin, and my wife's favorite), Nani's (great Italian w/ homemade pasta), Granary (atop the East Butte with great Teton views), Snake River Grill (best wine list in town) or Blue Lion (salmon, best rack of lamb in town).

I have seen many families with kids at the Gun Barrel- the wild animals on the walls and throughout the restaurant seem to interest them.

And the food is excellent!!!

The Bunnery is a great place for breakfast! And my wife and I went to Sidewinders a couple times, they have outdoor seating and a great menu containing pizza, burgers, hot wings. Enjoy your stay in Jackson!

If you like Mexican, the Merry Piglets is the best I've had anywhere! We had always liked Bubba's, but I hear it might not be as good as it used to be??

Couloir or the grill outside. You can't find another place that will give you a free gondola ride to mid mountain. The outside grill allows you some affordable food while enjoying the view. Quite an experience.

Check the website for Coulior and the Deck- they are closed some in August. (I was looking for myself, in case we get to Jackson in September) jacksonhole.com/summer-on-mountain-dining.ht…
