Secluded cabin

My husband and I will be exploring South Lake Tahoe in July. We want to stay in a cabin in a more secluded mt. area. We love to hike, kayak, and enjoy nature's beautiful sights. Any suggestions on cabins that might work? Want to stay close enough so not have to travel more than 15 minutes to activities. Price: not more than $150 per night. Thanks! Hiking requires driving to trailheads, which are all around the lake and may be more than an hour's drive away, depending on the summertime traffic. same with kakay rentals and lake access.

Fallen Leaf Lake is a good location for renting a cabin. However, your price range may be too low. Probably too low for anywhere around Tahoe that's decent.

There are very few secluded cabins in the South Lake Tahoe area and with your budget, no more than 15 minutes from Lake hiking trails may make your criteria not possible. Camp Richardson and Zepher Cove have some cabins, but they are not really secluded and may not fit your budget. There are certainly many lodging choices within your budget and close enough to hiking trails, but the secluded cabin requirment makes it difficult.

Good luck

Why South Lake Tahoe? It's a lot busier on the south shore than the north.
