This story is making the rounds on the news shows this morning.

Visitors need not be very concerned but should take precautions if bringing young children or pets into the area.

Isn't this a fairly common occurance? I remember it happening several times before including when I was working in the eastern Sierra and from camping in Tahoe. From time to time those plague warnings go up. When that happens I do give the chipmunks a wider berth. It's pretty easy to keep your distance from those critters.

Bet it's getting more widespread press due to what's gone on in Yosemite.

Not uncommon. Just do not feed or touch any rodents.
