Info on Crown Resorts Club Marbella would be helpful please

Staying at C.R. Club Marbella next week and any help regarding apartments would be very useful. Have looked at reviews on the RCI website and several people have recommended asking for units overlooking the pool as opposed to the car park! We are staying in two units with our little family (Mum, Dad and three Grandchildren, aged 10,6 and 2) and would appreciate any advice. Also, information about what would be best to occupy the children, who like swimming especially. Is the zoo worth a visit please? Thank you for any help that you may have.

Hi, we own at Club Marbella, although we've not stayed there for awhile as we exchange into other places along the coast. If you have a look at some of the other posts on the Sitio de Calahonda forum you will see lots of ideas for things to do. The zoo at Fuengirola is great and we always go when we visit (and we're 60+!), if you have a car you could also take a trip up to Estepona to the Selwo Aventura safari park, in Benalmadena there is Selwo Marina (dolphins, sea lions and much more) and also the Telecabina trip up the mountain. There's a triple deal you could get for entry to the the two parks and a ride on the telecabina.

Whilst at Selwo Marina you should also visit Paloma Park (about 50m from Selwo Marina) there are little animals and birds running free and a play area and a restaurant/bar for the adults and a large lake

Shopping for groceries can be done down at El Zocco where there are lots of restaurants too. Calahonda beach itself isn't that brilliant but if you go up the coast towards Marbella you will find Puerto Cabopino where there's a small marina and a fabulous sandy beach (be aware though that the far dune end of the beach is a nudist beach.

Fuengirola also has a ferry to Benalmadena marina which is worth doing.

To be honest, apartments overlooking the pool area can be suffer from the noise in the evenings from the entertainment in the pool bar/restaurant but there are lots of other local restaurants to visit as well. Club Calahonda (part of the Crown Resorts group) have a lovely restaurant with entertainment and its only a short walk. The car park view isn't that brilliant but to be honest, unless you are sitting on your balcony all day you probably won't notice it.

If you are doing an exchange through RCI you should be allocated an apartment before you arrive, although this doesn't necessarily guarantee you will get that actual apartment (happens with all timeshare resorts we've been to at some time or other). Our apartment is a ground floor one that has no view from the front at all but at the back it over looks another apartment block (not overly inspiring but they aren't unattractive).

You will have a lovely time in the area, we go back every other year to stay. If you need any other help don't hesitate to ask.

Once again, thank you so much for all your help. Have certainly noted all the places of interest, especially for our Grandchildren. Also for the information about the resort itself. Very helpful to know that poolside units may be noisy in the evenings, though our youngsters always manage to sleep well, especially if we've worn them out during the day!! We look forward to reporting on our trip, but would like to say how much we appreciate ALL your help. Our sincere thanks.
