Hi I will be in Skiathos in September I was wondering if anyone has gone on the mamma mia cruise with Thomsons or can you get a boat over to Skopelos at the harbour.
If you go to the old harbor in town in the afternoon or evening then you can book all types of trips directly from the boats & usually cheaper than buying from the rep's.

We did the Mamma Mia trip on the Poseidon last year from the old harbour, 20 euros each. You visit the church, have lunch in Skopelos town, visit some beaches
Where filming took place, have time on one of these beaches, drinks available and Abba music blasting out.
Do Thomson offer this for about 20 euros ?
If not just book it from the Old Harbour one night.
As the others have said, nip into the harbour and book with one of the boats direct, Thomson will be sooo expensive!
I was looking at some tours they did out of interest last yeah and they were charging something stupid like €45 to go to the dogs home and walk a dog!!! Damn sure that wont be going to the dogs home!!
Hey and welcome Gillian:-) Reps.. 3rd party.. are all about making the commission! Go direct.. whether booking directly with one of the excursions offered in the old harbor.. or just grab a regular ferry for the day;-) Of course, an excursion from the old harbor will be specific to Mama Mia.. nonetheless.. go independently.. and EnJOY!
Get the water taxi from your hotel to town. When you get off, the people selling the boat trips are just to your right.
Just a word of warning re the boat trips if the weather is rough they sometimes have to cancel the trip and re arrange for you which is not always possible depending on how many days you are there for,
We booked the Poseidon in 2012 and we had a fabulous trip and its the only boat which pulls up to the beach at the Mama Mia church.(there are lots of steps to climb).
This year we booked another cruise only to find that due to an early morning storm that trip had been cancelled .We did get our deposit back and actually went the same morning on a smaller boat that was sailing and it cost us less than the original booking.
They usually ask for a deposit of five or ten euros each if you book the evening before and they will give you your deposit back if they are unable to sail and you have a valid ticket.
Agree to pay the smaller amount just in case its not possible for you to go and its less to lose.
Poseidon last week cost €15 adult full day. Just prebook and arrive early to get best seats.
thanks for that what time does it sail at?
