Wedding locations in Lake Tahoe - Help!

We are going to Lake Tahoe in June, just the two of us, to get married but we cant decide on where to get married and need some advice!!

We have booked the photography and the minister but really struggling to pick a location everywhere looks amazing...our ideal location would be near a boardwalk as wedding photos we have seen look great but open to suggestions :-) The couple of locations we have been given are really expensive so looking for somewhere affordable, has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks very much

We could have different ideas about what a boardwalk is but aas far as I know Tahoe has no boardwalks. If you instead mean a pier then Taheo has lots of those.

One great one is Chambers on the west side. The end of the pier has an endless unobstructed view of the entire lake and afterward you can have a drink at the historic bar:

I'm surprised the photographer can't help you.

I often see wedding parties on the rocky promontory alongside the lake just north of Cave Rock. There's a great backdrop there and convenient parking along Hwy 50.

That website also shows other possible lakeside sites.

If there's "just two", perhaps you can check out a cheaper venue, maybe a chapel. Then take pictures afterwards at various points along the lake to highlight your wedding.

Some packages include a limo, or maybe arrange something on your own with the photographer. I've seen the wedding couple in the limo in the lead, with the photographer following in his own car. Of course, you can also do this with your camera and have a tourist standing by to take your picture at various places, too. Everyone recognizes a wedding party if carrying flowers.

A morning/noon wedding is preferable because the wind usually comes up about 3 p.m. Another suggestion is a luncheon cruise on the Bleu Wave out on the Lake.

If it's just the two of you why can't you just do it in a public park or beach? Why does it have to be a "venue"?

So which side of the Lake will you be at?

We went to a wedding at the Edgewood Restaurant and Golf Course.

Lovely place to take photos, outside on their deck, have a wedding dinner inside after.

Pressed submit too quickly!!

Definitely looking for a outdoors location both laid back so park, pier, beach, fields all good for us, the photographer we have booked is very creative so as long as cool backdrops then all good.

Thanks again for advice always good for inside info from locals!
