Restaurant choices

My partner, his sons age 12 and 17, and I will be travelling through Regina in mid July. We are all adventurous eaters and enjoy ethnic and spicy foods. We alsoe enjoy more standard conventiona l fare. My partner has been to the Lakeshore, Golf, and Cathedral Bistro when travelling to Regina on business. He found the first 2 boring and enjoyed the last. Any other suggestions are most welcome.

I'm surprized that no one has mentioned my fav Regina restauarnt-La Bodega on Albert. Situated in an older home , it is funky and comfortable. The service is very efficient but casual and the food is WONDERFUL. We often order a number of small plates when we are travelling on business.

I am not a fan of the food at La Bodega, but it is indeed a nice place. I go there frequently for drinks; they have a nice deck as well.

My wife and I really like La-Bodega (not sure if that's the correct spelling) It has a nice buzzy atmosphere and very good food. The willows is very good but can dent your wallet a bit and Moxies is again a great atmosphere with superb steaks etc.

If you fancy something a bit ethnic then try the Plum Garden on South Albert and the Regency Palace on East Victoria, they both offer great Chinese food.

We've not yet found a good Indian (asian) restaurant yet does anybody have any suggestions please?

For spicy food India House on Victoria Avenue offers a wonderful lunch buffet and their evening menu is even better.

The Freehouse on Albert Street has great food and a lively atmosphere. Their menu offers a variety of foods, although their sweet potatoe fries are the best!

For Vietnamese, I agree with the others and recommend Saigon by Night on Broad street

I'm curious as to what people would recommend in downtown Regina. We've eaten at Golf's and the Casino and both were decent.

For eating in downtown Regina, here are some of your choices:

Fancy - Memories, Diplomat, Golfs, Hotel Saskatchewan

Specialized - there are two Sushi restaurants (both near Scarth Street - can't remember the names)

Various - Copper Kettle, Beer Brothers, Freehouse, Rooftop Grill,

Family - Western Pizza, Triffons, Pizza

There are also lots of smaller restaurants all over downtown.

The Copper Kettle is a great place to eat, but I would choose Houston Pizza over Trifon's anyday! Especially the Hill Avenue location, where I used to work.
