New Years in Quebec

Can anyone recommend a restaurant in Old Quebec City for New Years Eve? It's our first trip to Quebec for our 25th wedding anniversary. We will be staying at Clos Saint Louis. Thank you!

There are many wonderful restaurants in Quebec City! My top romantic pick closest to where you are staying would be Le Saint Amour on rue Ste. Ursule. If you want the absolutely most heavenly (albeit expensive) restaurant, walk down to Lower Town to Initiale on rue St. Pierre. For more of a brasserie atmosphere, but with the romance of the river nearby, go to Le Cafe du Monde, also in Lower Town right on the St. Lawrence on rue Dalhousie. You will discover your own favorites too, but these are our favorites; congratulations on your anniversary; we just had #26 and Quebec City has figured into many a celebration.

First, congratulation on your 25th. What a choice to experience old Quebec: " Hotel Le Clos Saint-Louis". Try to get the suite with the fire place. I have been there many times and this is a higly reliable hotel. As far as restaurant is concerned your first reply must knowed Quebec very well , all his suggestions are very good. You can also try the Champlain at the Chateau Frontenac. They will probably have a great party for the new years eve. CALL IN ADVANCE TO BOOK A TABLE ! You must also try Les Anciens Canadien on St-Louis's street with their traditionnel cuisine. Anayways, you will enjoy your stay in Old Quebec and the Staff at the Clos Saint-Louis is always courteous ,efficient, and they know their town.

Bienvenue!

You could try Echaude (pronounced Ay-show-DAY) as well, in the Lower Town. The hotel Priory also has a new, very chic restaurant. But you must, absolutely, reserve well in advance. The citizens fill these places up completely.
