Whale watching tour

I'm thinking about visiting Quebec City and would like to go on the whale watching tour. Do you have to drive yourself or does the whale watching tour people have a bus that will pick us up from a Quebec City hotel?

You can do both. You can drive all the way to the Baie-Sainte-Catherine / Tadoussac area at the estuary of the Saguenay. That is like 3 hours, You can also drive closer to Qc at Saint-Siméon but departures are less fréquents and with only one type of boat available, this will shave a good 40 minutes of driving both ways but be aware that you will not already be in the whales area and willl have to travel a bit by boat before the «pod» where everybody goes. There are also some tours from Québec City available and more ore less it is just the bus trip and the cruise while upon return by car you can take the nice coastal road 362 between La Malbaie and Baie-Saint-Paul and even stop at Montmorency Falls near Québec City as the highway goes just in front.
