Well, in the Old Town, not really. But close to, yes. There is a parking lot in Lower Town almost across the street of the Musée de la Civilisation, near the river. There is one in Upper Town on St-Jean St, underground, close to the walls and across the street of Le Capitole hotel. There is one behind the govt building called "Complexe H" on Grande-Allée, close to the Qc City Tourist Office, but you better be there early AM since this place is highly coveted. Usually plenty of spaces there after 6PM.
You could also leave your car at a shopping mall free of charge for the day, but during shopping hours only (from 9 to 5:30 weekdays, from 9 to 9PM Thursdays and Fridays, from 9 to 5 Sat.) and you would need to take a bus to the Old Town (Express buses # 800 and 801 will lead you there in less than 10 minutes)
Thanks for your helpful suggestions Eirelover! I printed out a copy of your response and will take it with us to Quebec.
My pleasure : )
We have often parked our car in the parking lot across from the Museum ...by the river (than Eire mentioned). We have always found a spot there and if you are going in May you should be good. In July or August it could be a bit more difficult. The good part about parking there is you can go back and forth to the car to drop off packages if you wish, then you don't have to carry them around with you.
