Staying in Montreal in November... Couple questions

k so we are going up in Late November

What hotel would you recommend within walking distance of the bell center. Looking for either 2 Rooms or a Suite with 2 Bedrooms

What is there that I should see in Winter in Montreal? I heard of a church and a hockey team?? Anything else?

Places to eat?

Im sure there is many more questions but that is all I can think of now that I found a form to put them onto lol

Well, "a church and a hockey team" pretty much sums up what Montréal offers.

Nah, not at all. But that is a very general question to ask, and you'll find ideas and reviews in the Things to Do section (link at the top of the page) or the excellent Travellers Articles (link top right under Top Questions); that'll give you a good idea of what there is to do, although many things like sidewalk cafés and outdoor festivals and some tourist attractions like the ferry don't happen in the winter :( and in late November, the only festival going on would be the Image+Nation gay film fest.

However, you will find Montréal a great city, even in winter. It it's particularly nasty out, you can shop in the underground malls downtown and use the tunnels to get around -- technically, you can go from Peel métro all the way to Métro Place-des-Arts without coming up for air, although it is a roundabout way to go with lots of twists and turns.

For places to eat -- uh, this question comes up sooooo often, and we will gladly answer it again, but give us more to go on. Around the Bell Centre itself the closest restaurants would be a Saint-Hubert, a Cage-Aux-Sports, a Madison's, a Baton-Rouge, all big chains. There is a very good food court in the Gare centrale/Central Station just a few blocks east, there are a number of places on Stanley and Peel, such as Vieux Dublin pub food, a chinese buffet, Santa Lucia for Italian. And even more choices -- Montréal is a foodie city, so if you're willing to travel a bit and give us more to go on, we can give you more ideas.

And even the forum is searchable.
