Visiting biodome and botanical gardens need help with hotel

We are a family of 3 including a 6 year old child, coming to Montreal this week for a last minute trip to visit the Biodome and Planetarium. We will be turning up mid week, and need a good hotel that is child friendly. Not sure whether to stay near Biodome or not. We are coming to Montreal on train from Ottawa, our room budget is no more than $200 and we are only staying overnight. Any ideas gratefully received.

No good hotels near the Biodome. But the metro Pie ix is right there. So any downtown hotel near a metro stop should fit the bill.

You could always check Hotwire for deals, the four star that is liked by 85% is the Sheraton, you should be able to get a good deal on it. Do not look below 4 star Hotwire hotels in Montreal though, there are some dodgy hotels that pop up in the 3 star category.

Thank you, I will have a look at the Sheraton on Hotwire.

I also vote you stay downtown. There are many good hotels that will fit the bill. Hilton garden inn, hilton Bonaventure, Marriott Chateau Champlain, Queen Elizabeth.

You can use hotwire or priceline to snag a deal. If you are doing bidding or choosing a "anonymous" hotel, you can use betterbidding.com to snag a real deal!

For instance, downtown area hotel at 3*1/2 star and up, you should have a good hotel. Add a pool to the amneties and you can easily guess what you will get, there aren't that many with a pool.

Just walk to the nearest green line métro (subway) station then straight east to either Pie IX or Viau stations that are bookending the Olympic Complex. Both Biodome and the new Planetarium are there and the Botanical Garden and Insectarium just up the small hill, over Sherbrooke Street.
