7 hr layover in Montreal

Thinking about renting a car. Looking for destination ideas. Thinking about something outside of the city.

No way should you rent a car for a seven hour layover. Assuming you have seven hours, take two off for check in for your next flight, take 45 mins for getting through customs, immigration etc. so you really have four hours to do something.

What time is your layover, maybe someone will think of something for you. Bear in mind there is little to do near the airport and the city is about 30 mins each way by taxi. $38 plus tip each way.

Well said by bogwoppit. He's right, there is not much to do near the airport except for a large mall. Traffic in Montreal can be horrendous and you'll lose time in that easily.

bogwoppit said it all! You actually have about 4 hours to kill, not 7.

It depends on what time and what day your flights are. Weekday rushour should be avoided, and shops close early on some days.

Do not bother, I lived close to the airport for 20 years and never had much to do around, there is no big mall worth renting a car to go to. Have a nap in the airport, You'll save money AND a headache!

Ditto to bogwopit.. there is really nothing you can do in that time frame. I have worked at the airport for sometime and it's just not doable.
