Activities for children in Montreal

I will be in Montreal for a week in mid-April with my 3 and 7 year-old sons. Is there anything for them to do? Are there any children oriented or kid-themed hotels?

Kid-themed hotels?! I've never heard of ANY-themed hotels in Montreal, unless you count chic French as a theme or perhaps tacky Ruby Foo's fake Japanese-inspired Chinese look.

As for what kids can do: there's the science centre in the Old Port, the planetarium, the Cosmo space camp in Laval, the Biodôme and Insectarium (a zoo and a bug museum), La Ronde amusement park.

The National Library ("Bibliothèque nationale") has a kids-themed basement, where they can watch films and read books, and they organize storytellers and treasure hunts -- but of course, most of the stuff is in French, and I don't know what they do with non-Quebec residents -- I can look into it if you wish.

Tristou, thanks for your information. It's not necessary for you to find out more about the National Library kids-themed basement.
