Quebec vacation

we are looking to migrate to quebec and part of the plan is to visit and understand the place before we move here. We also get an additional 1 point in our quebec immigration if we do the 15 day visit to quebec.

We are Indians and are looking to put up a restaurant / bar - thats the long term plan, the short term plan is to move first.

I have 15 days in quebec (cant go out of the province).

can you kindly suggest an itinery for 15 days in quebec ?

Both my wife / myself have working knowledge of french.

regards

Here is a website to plan your stay. Since you do not specify what time of year... it is difficult to give you more infos:

www.bonjourquebec.com/ca-en/accueil0.html?

I would recommend spending about 3 days (each) in Montreal and Quebec area... then pick a few regions (like Eastern Townships/Cantons de l'est, Laurentians, Charlevoix, Lac St-Jean, etc ... ) according to what interests you.

Well they may tell you that you cannot go out of Quebec, that must be the Quebec immigration folk. But actually you can just drive into Ontario with no problems, lots of roads and absolutely no one checking. Canada is a big country and we all move around it with no checks. SO feel free to add Ontario to your trip if you want to see Ottawa, Canada's capital, or anything else in Canada.

Great that you are looking at Quebec, they need great immigrants, and they really need great Indian food.

Hi

We are going to be there in June end - 28 June until 15 July

Any specific events happening during that time ?

Shuttling between the cities , do you suggest a car rental or public transport is good ...

Which is a good countryside and if there are any entertainment places for girls around 7 years of age

Many thanks

I would suggest buying, or reading online, a good guidebook about Quebec and Canada. also look to the right of the forum to see the questions and trip reports. Each city has different ones.

You will be here bang on Festival galore :) International Jazz Fest in Montreal and Québec City's Summer Festival, to name a few. And indeed we do need great Indian food - more so in Québec City (only a few ones) than in Montreal (several, you would have more competition). A car would be useful if you intend to expore the countryside-> Eastern Townships, and/or the very nice hilly Charlevoix county to the east of Québec City, and/or the whales in Saguenay area, north of Québec City. In Montreal and Québec City a car is useless and a hindrance to be honest. Good public transportation between Mtl and QCity (intercity buses and train).

If your visit pleases you, on to a winter visit afterwards to win bonus points ..... the real test :))
