Diamond Lounge

We are diamond card holders and we are going for the weekend to Ceasars Windsor and want to know if there is a Diamond lounge like in Atlantic City or Vegas? and if it is, how is the food? is there free drinks?

thanks.

The situation in Windsor is annoying.

There is a Diamond Lounge but it is only open to people with more than 50,000 points!

Which sucks.

There are no FREE alcoholic drinks in Caesars Windsor at all.

It is illegal here.

Hi All,

Indeed the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is responsible for the administration of Ontario’s Gaming Control Act / Charity Lottery Licensing… along with Ontario’s Liquor License Act / Liquor Control Act which when combined is known as the “Alcohol & Gaming Regulation and Public Protection Act” (the title "says it all”).

Many Ontario Residents today would state that our Liquor Laws in particular are highly antiquated and out-of-touch with what the Citizens would like… infact most of the “hated” Rules & Regulations at our Casinos are actually because of the Ontario Liquor Laws.

*No one under 19 in the Building proper (causes issues when you have a Hotel on site)

*No Liquor on the Floor while Gambling

*No Liquor Incentives (ie FREE Drinks)

*Safe-Serve in effect (Bartender will watch / count your consumption etc)

*One Drink at a Time (can’t order a Beer & a Shooter… ie a Boiler Maker)

With all this Government Control… you won’t find US styled independently owned Casinos anywhere in Ontario (infact, I don’t know if there are any in Canada at all… I am not 100% familiar with the other Provinces, but I do know that in Quebec in-spite-of their more liberal Liquor Laws, their Casinos function pretty much the same as well)

Some would argue also that the Odds of Winning in Canadian Casinos SUCK… and that the Casinos are only here to “artificially” fill a need that Canadians would like to see met… in the end the Government Coffers is the ONLY real winners.

Oh well, c’est la vie

Cheers!

PS... Haven't been to the Windsor Casino... but I am guessing that the "Diamond Lounge" restriction is to reward those who visit this Casino or one of the other "associated" ones often (Players Plus type cards). Basically it is a "Caesar's Casino" in name only.

Another rule that the Americans HATE and are startled by, is the "No Alcohol after 2 am" rules

I often sit at the bar and play Video Poker and you should hear the reaction when someone walks up and can't get a drink at 2:01 am.

It sure isn't anything like VEGAS!

Yes. the Diamond Lounge is certainly to reward the frequent Players but in Vegas or AC, if you have reached the Diamond level then you are in. Windsor is the only place I know of that adds another restriction to it.

Infuriates me!

I make good use of those Diamond Lounges in Vegas!

TO BLONDE4EVER000,

Welcome to the WINDSOR TRAVEL FORUM.

Ah yes the 2 AM cut-off for serving alcohol… guessing that would make a difference to anywhere OPEN after that hour (is the Windsor Casino a 24-7 operation?). Suppose the other end of the clock might warrant a “wee squeak” as well… if memory serves we can’t serve again until 11 AM (as I say not 100% sure of that… lol, not usually looking for a drink that early in the morning).

As for VEGAS… Alas there is ONLY ONE… and no where else on earth is ever going to come close.

Cheers!

PS… Side thought… I just realized typing this… I guess in Ontario one cannot get an early morning Mimosa anywhere? We should count ourselves lucky that the “temperance supporters” in our society (a hang-over that has lasted too long when it comes to Alcohol Rules in Ontario) haven’t figured out a way to put time-delay locks yet on hotel mini-bars !!

Sorry but you are incorrect- it is perfectly legal to gamble and drink. You can find wine glasses near any slot machine.

I am a seven stars and the lounge is for those with 50K points and higher because the Detroit/Windsor area has the largest concentration of seven stars of all the Harrahs casinos- it even beats Las Vegas. They have hot food after 4 pm but they take it away at 8 pm and the hours have shortened.

Winning in Windsor has always been very hard but as of late the machines are set to pure gouge- be forewarned. The only plus to this casino is the fact that all of Canada is non smoking so you don't have to put up with the rudeness factor that the Detroit Casinos and the smokers who think they are entitled to make you die along with them attitude.

They serve all kinds of drinks in the casino.....of course only until 2 a.m. I just came back from Vegas and definately not even close to the same thing. I live in Windsor and usually stay a weekend at a time. It's a little get away for us and I love that we don't have to go far away to get away. The rooms are free and very nice.....I can't really complain. Oh, except that I never win enough!

Did I make a mistake for booking this trip ???

Well its not where I would go flying on a plane, first trip to Canada, I would had went to over to Niagara and those casinos but no Ceasars in Niagara--why who knows, sure would have been great-better, IMO

But since you are book it still is Canada and Ceasers, if your going this spring--summer, its right on the Detroit river and is very nice.

If you could extend the day your plane leaves to go back home, I would recommend getting a rental car and take a 3 1/2--4 hour drive to either Toronto-which has no casino but is an awesome big city or going to Niagara for 1 or 2 nights and seeing the falls.

If you can't extend the trip, there is still is shopping in Windsor. There is a nice shopping mall called Devonshire, its around a 15-20 min drive from the casino. If your not renting a car you might want to think about it, even for just the day or 24 hours so your not just right near the river-casino the whole time. The Bay dept store I found some great buys on clothes and they were not made in China, overseas yes but seem better quality and since they were on sale the same prices as the cheaper clothes I can find here in Michigan.
