Hi LilyNovaScotiaCanada,

Welcome to the WINDSOR TRAVEL FORUM.

Pack one? Well assuming that you might be flying in from NS... of course that means packing it in your checked bags and NOT Carry-On (New Rules for Carry-On)... So not the greatest idea... no one likes Vodka soaked socks!

And if you are crossing the border from the USA (by chance) into Canada on your way to Windsor... remember the Duty Free import limits PER PERSON are as follows:

* 1.5 Litres of Wine

OR

* 1.14 Litres (40 ounces) of Alcohol

OR

* A TOTAL of 1.14 Litres (40 ounces) of Wine AND Liquor

OR

* 24 x 355 Ml (12 ounce) Cans or Bottles (maximum 8.5 Litres) of Beer

AND

You have to be 19 Years old to bring that into Ontario, have been out of the Country (Canada) for 48 Hours or more (consequtively). And the value of the booze also must be part of your total $ 400 CDN maximum Duty Free Limits (so not on top of the $ 400).

If you happen to bring in more booze, or are under the 48 Hours Limit... then you will PAY CANADIAN TAXES & DUTY (Expensive).

For more info see "I Declare" on the Canadian Border Services Agency Website = www.cbsa.gc.ca

Cheers!

ktowntravllr has the correct location for the nearest LCBO store - it is about 6 city blocks from the casino, not too far to walk on a nice day.

Pack some wine glasses and an opener if you need these as well - the rooms at Caesar's don't provide any.

I would pack a bottle. Even if you're flying, the chances of it breaking open are pretty slim. There is a liquor store within walking distance (the one mentioned above on Univeristy Av), however the hours are not the best if you're here for the weekend. I'd pack one bottle with you, just incase your timing is too late to make it to the liquor store.
