Hi;

Currently, you need photo ID (i.e. driver’s license) AND your birth certificate for Customs on both sides of the border, OR a passport. Only if you are FLYING into or out of the US must you have a passport.

Effective June 1st 2009, you will require one of the following to cross the border by LAND.

• U.S. Passport

• U.S. Passport Card

• Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL)

• Trusted Traveler Program Card

If flying into or out of the US you MUST have a passport.

There are several good hotels and many good bars in the downtown area. A better idea of age range and what kind of bar you are looking for may be a bit of help before suggesting. You can use TripAdvisor links to look at the hotels and their locations (and tripadvisor ratings for quality). All of the hotels in downtown Windsor are withing very easy walking distance to almost all the bars as well.
