High Park Restaurants?

We will be staying in the area and looking for a nice place for a casual dinner one night. Nothing too expensive but fun - maybe some entertainment, although it would be a weekday (Thursday). Thanks.

Hi canchick...............there is a cute little place on Bloor near the Keele subway stop that I've enjoyed and think you will too............it's the casual atmosphere you mention and also has the added bonus of live entertainment on a Thursday night........it's called Latinada, so a fusion of Latin cultures...Agentinian, Mexican,Spanish/Cuban, etc................they have a killer shrimp dish...sautéed in garlic, white wine, EVOO and yumm Mojitos and Sangria..................if latin not to your taste, the Roncesvalles strip, off Bloor is crammed with restaurants of all descriptions.......not sure how you are getting to the restaurants though.....

at Bloor and Runnymede

The Kennedy - fun and not too expensive, very airy bar with a guaranteed crowd

Work's Burger - burger restaurant with bunches of different burgers

at Keele and Dundas (Junction)

Indie Ale House - brewary with wide range of house beers, not the best on food

Playa Cabana Cantina - Mexican, but getting on the pricey side

at Jane and Annette

Queen Margerita - Neopolitan pizza place that gets busy

at Roncesvalles a bit after Dundas

Barque Smokehouse - meat fest, but gets busy

Vesuvio at Keele and Dundas if you want Italian. There's a few fun restos along Dundas...some with no name lol

Really anywhere in Bloor West Village....The Kennedy which was already mentioned is my favorite. Food is very good and the atmosphere is great!

Latinada has live music on Thursday night.............the Kennedy is a local pub/sports bar, so lots of TV's on the go................Vesuvio....local institution serving pizza/pasta for decades....entertainment only occasionally....don't think any of the others do.....

Well, if you have an early supper you can hit the dream in high park. This year they are doing the taming of the shrew and Macbeth on alternating nights. It starts at 8pm and runs about 90 mins. You can bring a picnic as the site opens a couple hours before or there is a some food in the park itself.
