where to shop for groceries

Hi

We arrive in Toronto on a Sun- late afternoon, staying in an apartment close to the Westin Hotel. Had planned to shop at St Lawrence Market on the Monday but have just read that it's closed on Mondays. Where can we pick up some supplies in the area? Basics for self catering.

Thank you experts

There is a large Loblaws Grocery store at corner of Jarvis and Queens Quay East. A Sobeys grocery store at Queens Quay West, just west of York Street. These are both full service grocery stores. And a few smaller convenience markets in the area.

Most major stores - grocery or otherwise - are open Sundays. The Loblaws is a very good one ... I'm not familiar with that Sobeys store.

The Sobey's is a little small, though it is a full-service grocery store. The other one I'd recommend in that area is the Longo's at Maple Leaf Square (15 York Street, just south of Bremner). Quite large and well-stocked, with a particularly good produce section.

The Loblaws Queen's Quary is your best bet. It one long block away from the Westin Habour Castle, as you leave the hotel walk down the ramp to street and turn right, just keep walking until you see the sign, the store will be across the street(north side) opposite Redpath's Sugar .

It will be open late. It's a very large store and it is open until midnight on Sunday
