Arriving Toronto early morning

We are arriving from Vancouver on the Redeye 6.30am on September 20th plan to pickup car rental, visit Niagara Falls do 'Maid of the Mist' tour en-route NOTL o/n there. Next day plan to do winery tour. We need to be in Kingston by the late afternoon on 21st.

Question should we return the rental NOTL and catch train to kingston from here or would it be easier to drive and return vehicle in Kinston?

suggestions and alternative advise appreciated.

1) You should check that the rental agency actually has a location in Kingston that you could drop it at. Also - find out if there will be a one-way drop off fee.

2) If you decide to take the train, you should be taking it from Toronto - not from NF. Train service from Niagara Falls (as opposed to NOTL where there is no train service) is limited, and will require changing trains in Toronto anyway.

3) Do you need a car in Kingston? If not, then rent the car at airport, go to NF & NOTL, return the car to a downtown Toronto location at Union Station, where you can pick up the train to go to Kingston. Note that it takes 2.5 hours by train from Toronto to Kingston, so you will have to factor that into your timing.

Check the VIA website for train information.

I think you will find that you may not have time to do a winery tour on the 21st, depending on when you need to be in Kingston.

If you are not too tired you could do the winery tour late afternoon your first day in Niagara Falls. Where are you staying in Niagara?
