Driving from Niagara to Toronto - Best place to see canal

Hello! We are planning a trip and will be driving from Niagara Falls, Ontario to Toronto in mid-April and want to stop and see part of the Welland Canal. We'll be taking the Queen Elizabeth highway - where's a good place to stop and take a quick tour/eat lunch? I understand the canal may not be open then, pending the weather. Thanks!

I recommend you do a search for this attraction and then message one of the reviewers directly. There are a number reviewers who enjoyed watching the locks. I'm sure one of them would be glad to help you.

The canal is already open so no problem. There is a viewing platform at Lock 3 as well as the Welland Canals Centre. stcatharines.ca/en/…

To get there take the Gendale exit off the QEW before the skyway, the take Glendale west across the canal and turn right on the Welland Canal Parkway. Map directions at: http://g.co/maps/567wk

To see more head south along the Parkway from lock 3, make a jog at Glendale and drive past the Flight Locks, where the ships climb the Niagara escarpment (which is what Niagara Falls is coming over).
