I was wondering which hill is better for beginners?

I am looking for a long but not steep "green" hill and a good length bunny hill.

Vorlage. For beginners go to Vorlage in Wakefield. It is quiet. They have great instructors, good hills, good prices.

A few comments:

1. Wine -4-2; congratulations on your comprehensive reply. With the original "vanishing" post, I have a good idea on what it was. I have seldom seen so many eliminated posts under one tittle.

2. There is a good snow cover in Ottawa and all the hills. Every 2nd day we get a phone call from relatives in Tremblant, and they. are on the slops practically every. In fact they have been at it for some time. Tremblant tries to open in mid-November; if there is no snow and the weather is cool enough, their 454 cannons will make snow.

3. This is cute: Some people will be on the slops for a few days in June/July. For the packed snow to melt, they have to level it, so that any bare patch will be covered. Some of the locals will know what days. My relatives say it is an interesting sight to see people going to the beach as they look at individuals in swim suits carrying their skis and boots.

4. If you can stay for a few days, Mt Trembalnt is the place. The village at the bottom of the main hill is has some shops, restaurants, a micro-brew and you can go from one side of the mountain to the other side, on a cabin, to the casino. And St Jovite, about 4 miles away, has good restaurants, an excellent micro-brew/pub/dining, and major supermarkets.

At Mt. Tremblanc, the ski season started November 22, and is tentatively to end April 14. On April 8, 9, 10, 11, the hills are closed so that they can move snow around -- take where there is too much snow to places that don't have enough. So anyone coming for over the pond has a lot of opportunities.

The great microbrew in St J ovite is called St Arnould. Good luck.

Over the past 2 weeks the weather in Ottawa and some ski hills have acted like a yo-yo. 2 weeks ago you had a lot of snow. Then it warmed up and some of the snow melted. Last weekend in Tremblant it rained for 3 days. Then it got cold, and the roads and hills were icy and very bad. As individuals suggested above you should check the weather before you venture out. Trembalnt, for example, takes 3 days to groom the hills back after rain and ice -- they cut the ice in chunks, then smaller chunks, then even smaller chunks. A few days ago they had 2 days of snow. Today, some of the hills are closed as the wind is 30 mph on the "versant soleil"(sun side) and is extremely cold. They advise ski masks, warm clothes, and lots if hot chocolate drinks.

For the daily snow conditions, you can go to Trembalnt.ca, then to Mount Tremblant Official Ski Report Official Site, then to Ski and Golf, then down to snow report.
