are children allowed at the wineries?

My husband and I are going to Niagara Falls this summer with our 9 year old daughter. I know NOTL is more for couples but while we're there I'd like to visit at least one winery. Are children allowed at the wineries? And if so, any recommendations on which one would be more interesting to a 9 year old girl?

Kids are allowed, they just can't sample. My wife and I hit 5 or 6 last spring. I loved the Inniskillin and Gretzky Wineries. There were some other smaller ones as well.

Kids are allowed at the wineries, but they would be very bored. If its the different wines that you want to try, you should go to the "wine country vintners" store on the main street in NOTL. You can try a variety of wines, from a variety of wineries.

In my experience, a nine year old girl is not really going to be that interested in any of the wineries.

But a spot that offers more than just a winery visit is Jordan Village, home of Cave Springs winery. It's a charming place to stop with galleries, shops, cafes and a local museum. There's a lovely fine dining room at the Inn on the Twenty as well.

I think the idea of visiting the winery store in Niagara on the Lake and/or Jordan village will offer everyone in your family a better experience.

Try Southbrook Winery. http://www.southbrook.com/home

It's an organic winery that has a pretty good little tour through the vines & get you up & close to the sheep they use to keep the weeds in check.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I'm more interested in finding a winery that has an interesting tour, nice architectutre, not as much for the wine tasting. Thanks Keith, my daughter will love the sheep, lol!

If your looking for beautiful wineries, go to Chateau de Charmes or Peller Estates. These are probably the nicest of the wineries to tour. If your driving there are a lot of wineries in NOTL that are close to one another.
