Breakfast places to avoid: AL MACS (Ferry St); IHOP (Lundy's Lane); Denny's (Lundy's Lane); Most anything in the Fallsview area (highrise hotel area) as it will be costly

When I stayed there in June we had breakfast at the Flying Saucer at the hotel recommendation and it was good food and really good price. We then drove about 30 minutes outside the city for a trail ride and then had lunch in Port colborne at a place that horseplay niagara recommended called The smoking Buddha. had the pad thai and It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. It is a bit of a drive but worth it in my opinion. We ate diner at the Keg in the Embassy suites and had a table with a fallsview. Both my husband and I enjoyed the Prime Rib.

We ate breakfast the next day at IHOP and it was sooo expensive and not even as good as the flying saucer so I don't recommend it.

Hope you have a great trip

Thanks for the recommendations! Will be up there for US Thanksgiving (hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving last week, BTW) and definitely want to get my Poutine fix while I'm visiting. Really appreciate the locals recommendations on the restaurants!

Locals tend to go to St. Catharines for dinner - essentially just down the street from Niagara Falls.

What kind of food does St. Catharines serve? Is it high end or budget? Can you get a view of the Falls or River from it?
