Cooperstown, Niagara Falls and Boston

We want to plan a trip to Boston, Cooperstown and Niagara Falls for next June. We plan to fly to Boston 2 nights, drive to Cooperstown 2 nights and on to Niagara Falls. Can you give us some pointers. We've never been there. Coming from California

Be sure to get tickets to fenway ahead of time, if you are a ball fan you have to see a game. I would likely spend more time in Boston if you can. The baseball hall of fame is great, depends on your interest how long it will take you to see, I did it in about half a day. Are crossing into Canada, how are you flying back.

If you can get a 1 way car rental, drop off the car at Buffalo airport and fly home from there. Be sure to advise the rental company that you are taking the car into Canada so that you have the appropriate paperwork and so that if there will be any additional charges (many/most rental cars have a hidden gps so they can track your location and usage)

Hi KarenSue1;

Just a reminder…citizens of the United States require one of the following to cross the border by land.

• U.S. Passport

• U.S. Passport Card

• Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL)

• Trusted Traveler Program Card

Kids 15 and under just need their birth certificates.

Best Regards

I would give Boston an extra day, one day less in Cooperstown, because other than the HOF, there's not much there....

Karensue1,

One thing to keep in mind relative to Cooperstown. Starting in June and running through the summer, Cooperstown Dreams Park runs week-long baseball tournaments with roughly 100 teams per week and many with their families. Players and coaches all get a ticket to the Hall of Fame (there are other organizations that do this as well, however I am only familiar with CDP).

I would recommend visiting the hall of fame earlier in the week when the teams are still largely in pool play...attendance picks up later in the week as teams get eliminated from the playoffs.

Teams are advised of their "week" in January or February and there's a mad rush to get rental homes and hotel rooms then. Suggest you book your Cooperstown hotel before then.

Happy Travels
