Family 2 room suite room-suggestions? for next spring

Hello everyone,

We will be traveling to the Falls for Spring Break next year ( the week after Easter, April 2-4th 2013) and are starting to look around at options.

We will be taking our 2 girls ( who will be 3 and 1 at the time of the trip) for 2 nights and are looking for suggestions for hotels that have the 2 room suite style rooms that have a bed room and a living room or something like that.

The idea is we would love to spend time with the kids and take in the sights with them, but would also like to be able to put them to bed on time and be able relax ourselves after the girls go to bed in a the other room and enjoy some wine, watch a movie, ect..

We are looking for about $300-350 total (or less) for both nights, and have found the following locations, but are looking for any other suggestions.

Courtyard by marriott on Ferry/Victoria ave

Embassy Suites Fallsview on Fallsview

Raddison Fallsview on Fallsview

Other things to consider, a fridge would be nice but not necessary, Also any package deals would be nice, but also not necessary?

Thanks for any suggestions:

Also, 2 other quick questions:

Does the inclined Railway run in the winter months? ( in this case April)

Any ideas on parking in or around the Clifton Hill area if we end up staying at a location more towards the Fallsview area? Such as where, cost, ect? Last time we were in the area was 8 yrs ago and we walked almost everywhere, but that may be too much walking for the kids.

Thank you for any suggestions and ideas.

Hi Jamaican_Rudy;

I would suggest the Country Inn & Suites, which has been designated the Travellers' Choice award for 2012, for families.

The Country Inn & Suites is adjacent to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark and Casino Niagara. Clifton Hill is about 5 minutes away, and the Maid of the Mist (if operating that early in the year) is about another 5 minutes away.

Best Regards

The existing Incline Railway is being replaced this winter with a new, enclosed, all weather version. It isn't likely that it will be operating by April.

Hi - I've stayed in all 3 of the hotels you mentioned. I have no strong complaints about any although I lean towards preferring the Embassy Suites for a combination of location and value. However the Radisson, which is in the same "Fallsview District" location - says in their website that they have recently renovated the entire hotel and my last visit was before these renovations. The EmbassySuites do offer 2 Room Suites, some have 2 Queen Beds plus separate living area with pull-out bed, most (not all) rooms have spectacular views over the Falls, include breakfast plus afternoon drinks, has a decent (albeit "chain") Steakhouse right in the hotel - The Keg - with views over the Falls (and they serve foods other than Steak), and they often offer packages which include GC towards dinner, Shuttle Service and other perks. Go to their website and find out how to sign up for email alerts. However Spring Break is a "high" season, may not have a lot of good package deals during that time frame.

The Courtyard is a few blocks away, more or less in between the Fallsview district and Clifton Hill (where all the touristy museums and similar attractions are concentrated). No views from the Courtyard.

A standard room at the embassy will suit your needs with the seperate rooms and kitchenette. They also have a free full breakfast for each guest. The Embassy also has the best view of the falls from your room. I do like the country inn and suites but it is not a fallsview hotel and would only stay there if budget was an issue.

Does the country inn and suites have a shuttle? Also does anyone know if the $8 parking include in and out privileges ?

Have a look at this one....on the website go to "Rooms" and then click on "family suite". Or better yet click on "V.I.P. apartment".

This place will suit your budget for sure, just not sure if it fits all your needs. The tripadvisor reviews are excellent for this little gem.

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites last year. At that time, the parking fee included in and out privileges.

Thank you everyone for all your tips and suggestions. We are looking over all the details.

Can't wait to come back and visit the area, my wife and I went here when we were dating like 8 years ago and had a great time. It wl be great now to take our young girls as well and share it with them.

One more quick questions. My wife and I have our passports for the border crossing, all our children need is there birth certificate correct. They will be 3 & and 1 at the time of the trip.

Thanks again everyone.

You're Welcome, Jamaican_Rudy !

Yes, that is correct - kids 15 and under just need their birth certificates to cross by land.
