Renaissance or Doubletree

We are trying to decide whether to stay at the Doubletree or Renaissance Hotel. For either hotel we would just get the city view room. The Doubletree is newer, but I have read that it is quite far from the falls, although it is on the same street as the Renaissance. We are intersted in going to the new Fallsview Casino. The Renaissance is closer, but is the Doubletree very far from the casino? The Doubletree is a little cheaper. Which hotel would be better as far as walking to the falls, Clifton Hill, casino, etc.?

Wow! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause a debate. Thank you for your input.

Gecko: I went to Google Earth, but I can't make out the Doubletree. I think I recognized the Renaissance. I think it is the hotel in front of a construction site (which I assume is now the casino). There is another construction site that I think may be the Doubletree, but I am not sure. Could you help, please.

Thank you very much.

Yeah the picture was taken when the hotel was being built. But you can still make it out.

Go to the search feature in google earth. go right over the Niagara Falls area, but make sure it's over the canadian side. In the search box type in "hotels" It will come up with all the little yellow circles with different hotels.

The Doubltree is the yellow cirlce that says ' J ' , it will say: Doubletree Resort Lodge & Spa Fallsview. The location isn't the exact location, but if you look a little to the left (or right depending on which way your looking) you will the the Old Stone Inn. Just across from the Old Stone inn is a big construction site, with red steel around the sides, and that's the Doubltree being built.

Sorry if that's all a little complicated lol, but try it and tell me if you find it!

Thank you very much. I did find the construction site. What is the building with the big white roof in front of (or behind) what I think is the Skylon Tower? Is the other construction site right near the Renaissance the new casino?

The white building your talking about is the Imax theatre. I think?? If it looked like a pyramid than that's what it is. well the other construction site you can see infrony of the Renaissance is the new casino being built. I think the pictures are from winter of this year, and that's when they do all the building because it's off season.

Oh, that's the IMAX! Thank you so much for your quick responses.

And for all your input. Google Earth was a great help! The Renaissance looks quite a bit closer to the incline railway, which we will probably want to use.
