Suggestions for London

My wife & I are taking a little road trip around Lakes Erie & Ontario in July, we are staying for a night in London. Would like ideas/suggestions from the local residents on things to see & do, unique restaurants, etc.

Instead of spending the night in London, stay 20 minutes south of London in Port Stanley. Check out Kettle Creek Bed and Breakfast.

You can also do a tour of a submarine in Port Burwell, just east of the London area on Lake Erie.

We already booked a stay in London, but we plan to take in as much of the Lake Erie shore as possible as we head east towards Niagara Falls.

In the centre of the city, Victoria Park will have some sort of festival in July -- Folk Festival, SunFest, Rib Fest, etc. You should be able to find a schedule.

If you like parks, visit Springbank Park.

What about the university?

Museums: The Museum London focuses on multiple kinds of exhibits. The London Museum of Archaeology and Lawson Prehistoric Village makes an ideal day trip. Eldon House. Fanshawe Pioneer Village (more for kids).

Did you book downtown and like pasta? Spageddy Eddy's is kind a cool unique place.

It’s a bit on the upscale side.. but the Black Trumpet in London has AMAAAAAZING food. If you feel like treating yourself, check out their enclosed courtyard for a lovely meal.
